| AMERICAN AIRLINES INSTALLS TWO-SELF SERVICE CHECK-IN MACHINES AT PROVIDENCIALES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT |
PROVIDENCIALES, Turks and Caicos Islands; Sunday, May 18, 2008 -American Airlines, a founding member of the global Oneworld® Alliance, announced the installation of two Self-Service Check-In machines at Providenciales International Airport, which becomes one of the first international destinations where American offers this convenient service.
"Our passengers' response to Self-Service Check-In has been extremely positive,² said Olga Taylor, country manager in Providenciales. ³Many passengers have discovered the convenience of these machines to check in for their flights, select their seats, obtain boarding passes, and even check luggage, all in one quick-and-easy stop."
"Customers will also have the ability to stand by for an earlier or later flight and to request an upgrade using their AAdvantage electronic upgrades. Of course, our excellent Customer Service representatives are always available to assist passengers who desire or need additional assistance."
Currently, American has three daily flights from Providenciales to Miami, daily service to New York/JFK, and a once a week flight to Dallas/Fort Worth on Saturdays.
